I’m not 100% sure but I can imagine this is probably true.
You can be prone to joint problems through your genetics however doing strenuous activities like dancing when you are landing heavily on your joints and putting your joints under tremendous stress can lead to wear and tear on your joints leading to problmems.
excellent question! as Amelia says it’s likely, but we’d need to study it carefully before we can say for sure. I do recall seeing a study that sprint athletes were more prone to having arthritis after they retire, so that’s a joint problem that does occur in sports people – perhaps dancers are at risk after all, but they provide such art in the meantime that it’s worth it for them I guess!
oh, ok then 😀 its just that i have a lot of joint problems with my hips, knees, ankles and sholders and been suffering from back and neck problems and ive been dancing for about 12 years now so i was just curious 😛
