• Question: could you modify a virus the re-grow a body part would there be eny unexpected results? such as the cells mutating?

      part of the research team I work in is interested in trying to re-grow the retina – the light-sensitive cells in the back of the eye. we try to do this in a variety of ways, but delivering stem cells is one idea that people are interested in, and yes there are potential unexpected side effects! sometimes the cells we deliver grow too much, sometimes they kill the cells in they eye, lots of things really – that’s why it’s vital that we test all out therapies for safety!
