• Question: have you found enything closer to a cure for caner rather then kemotherapy and is it possible to maybe cure cancer in the future ?

      Cancer is such a large group of diseases, it’s unlikely that one medicine or treatment will cure all they different types – but I wouldn’t rule it out!

      I work on gene therapy for diseases in the eye – we use viruses to deliver DNA to cells so that they can function better. Lots of scientists all over the world are using similar techniques to deliver genes to cancer cells, in the hope they can reduce the size of tumours and/or stop them from spreading – there are even some gene therapy approaches to cancer being tried in clinical trials and it’s a very exciting field…! I’d hope that by the time you’re my age we would have effective treatments other than chemotherapy for a lot of cancers – a job for you to get involved with I’d say 🙂
