• Question: if a woman family member from my dads side of the family had cancer is there a probability that i could get it

      I’m sorry to hear about your family member and I hope she is doing OK. As far as your question goes- it depends on the type of cancer. Some cancers are genetic and you can get genetic screening done to see if you have a risk of developing cancer.
      You get half your genes from your mom and half your genes from your dad- so if there is a genetic condition there is a chance it could be passed down. However, I wouldn’t get nervous, even if you have the marker it doesn’t mean you will get cancer- just means you should take extra precaution about being healthy.
