  I’d not heard about this but I’ve just found a paper published by a group in China where they suggest that a substance produced by Starfish reduced the amount of coughing and increased the period before an asthma attack of mice and guinea pigs.
  
  The journal doesn’t seem to be a very well known one so who knows if this research is correct or if it will help humans with asthma. I wouldn’t hold your breath… (bad joke I know!)
