• Question: Liz with your research is there a higher chance of getting cancer if that certain type runs in the family? Do you think that there will be anything to prevent this?

Hey great question. Some cancers can have a genetic component, for example pheochromocytoma runs in my family. It’s a rare type of cancer of the adrenal gland. There’s a mutation in a particular genes that increases the risk of getting this cancer and that mutation is in my family. You can get genetic testing to figure out if you have the mutation- however even if you have that mutation it doesn’t mean you’ll automatically get the cancer..

it just means you have a higher risk and should be that much more careful about staying healthy..

let me know if you have more questions!
