Question: sometimes in a science lesson i get bored how can i make science more interesting for myself ?

I know how you feel. I can honestly say that I had some science lessons at school that I really hated. I really wanted to *like* science and was often bewildered to find myself in some lessons that were dull and boring.

So here’s the thing, you may well find some areas of science boring, and though this can sometimes be part of the way the material is delivered, you also have a role to play. Ask your teacher what will be covered in the next lesson. If it’s an area you think is boring, try to engage with it. Google it, find out something about it – especially something interesting – then use this as a starting point for a discussion with your teacher. I know there can be pressure to not stick you neck out, but if it means that the rest of the class become more engaged in an area that they are finding dull, then I can only imagine this is a good thing.

You should always try to take the material you are provided with at school and do more with it – Google is a great tool to find out other interesting things about what you have been told. There are other sites where you can ask scientists questions, such as http://www.askabiologist.org.uk. We won’t do your homework, but if you’re interested in something, ask for our opinion on it.

Science at the end of the day is about curiosity. We want to find out NEW things, not just resign ourselves to only reading the stuff people give us. Also remember that whilst some areas may be boring to you, all knowledge is good!
