In 10 years time I hope that I am running my own research lab, rather than working for a professor as I currently do. I want to have my own PhD students, working on ideas that I have had, but which they then develop. I want to have done work that helps doctors decide which antibiotics are best to use for certain infections, and I want to be involved in the hunt for new antibiotics, to replenish what few antibiotics we have left that still work.

Well hopefully I’ll still be involved in science in some way but this is a big question for me at the moment as I’m starting to consider my future careers. I think I’ll either be working in industry, be a science/medical writer or maybe work for the Ministry of Defence. They do some really cool stuff making new technologies to help the armed forces and to help with security, anti-terrorism etc.

Combining biology and technology, my favourite thing 🙂

I hope to be still working in science, doing experiments teaching students and writing papers. It would be good to have got some more money to to more complicated (and expensive) research but that’s all I’d really hope for…

In 10 years- I hope to be a rocking science professor somewhere- continue exploring, trying to figure out how the world works. You can come work in my lab!
